ArcGIS Pro: Download and Install on a Personal Computer

Overview

Students who have been granted access to ArcGIS Pro can download and install the software on a personal Windows computer.

Your ArcGIS Pro license is connected to your Cedar Crest College ArcGIS account. You do not need to purchase a license or enter a license key.

Important: ArcGIS Pro is a Windows application and cannot be installed directly on macOS. Mac users should use ArcGIS Pro through FalconApps instead.

Before You Begin

Before downloading ArcGIS Pro:

• Make sure you have been granted access to ArcGIS Pro for your course.
• Make sure your Windows computer is fully updated.
• Make sure you have enough available storage space to install the application.
• You will need administrator rights on your computer to install the software.

Sign In to Cedar Crest ArcGIS Online

1. Open a web browser and go to the Cedar Crest College ArcGIS Online site:

   https://cedarcrest.maps.arcgis.com

2. Select the option to sign in using your Cedar Crest College account.
3. You will be redirected to Microsoft.
4. Sign in using your Cedar Crest College email address and password.
5. Complete any additional Microsoft authentication prompts if requested.

Download ArcGIS Pro

1. After signing in to ArcGIS Online, click your profile/name in the upper-right corner.
2. Select My settings.
3. Select Licenses.
4. Locate ArcGIS Pro Advanced.
5. Click Download ArcGIS Pro.
6. Select the current version of ArcGIS Pro and download the installer.

Depending on changes made by Esri, the wording or location of the download option may vary slightly.

Install ArcGIS Pro

1. Locate the ArcGIS Pro installer you downloaded.
2. Double-click the installer to begin.
3. Follow the prompts to install ArcGIS Pro.
4. Accept the license agreement when prompted.
5. Unless you have a specific reason to change them, use the default installation options.
6. Allow the installation to complete.

Sign In to ArcGIS Pro

After installation is complete, open ArcGIS Pro.

When the ArcGIS Sign In window appears:

1. Select Your ArcGIS organization's URL.

2. Enter: cedarcrest

3. Check Remember this URL.
4. Click Continue.
5. Select Cedar Crest College.
6. Sign in using your Cedar Crest College email address and password.
7. Complete any additional Microsoft authentication prompts if requested.

Once you are signed in, ArcGIS Pro will use the license assigned to your Cedar Crest College ArcGIS account.

Don't See the Download or Can't Sign In?

Access to ArcGIS Pro must be assigned to your Cedar Crest College account.

If you do not see an option to download ArcGIS Pro or receive a permission/access denied message:

• Students: Contact your instructor to verify that you have been approved for ArcGIS Pro access.
• Employees: Contact the Cedar Crest College IT Help Desk.

If you can sign in successfully but ArcGIS Pro reports a licensing error, contact the IT Help Desk and include a screenshot of the error message.
