Using the NuVision Trakker II Mobile Card Swipe Device (IAS Mobile)

Trakker II – Handheld Wireless Reader

The Trakker reader software runs on a hardware device called the SOMO 655 by Socket Mobile.  The hardware uses an embedded Windows operating system.

To operate the Trakker software (called IAS Mobile), follow these steps:

 

  1. For online transactions, you will need to be connected to your wireless network


     
  2. The built-in Socket Scan program must be running. This piece of software controls the attached magnetic stripe swipe reader.
    You will know that the Socket Scan program is not running by looking in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.  There will only be one icon and that icon is used to change the screen from portrait to landscape.  You should never use that icon.



     
  3. To start the Socket Scan program, press the F3 button


     
  4. Once it is running you will see an icon in the bottom right-hand corner that looks like an ID Card.


     
  5. You will need the IAS Mobile Trakker program running and you can start that by pressing the F2 button.

     

 

Button Assignments 

F2 – Starts the IAS Mobile Program

F3 – Starts the Socket Scan Program  if it is off completely

F4 – Starts an Internet Browser if you need to connect to the network
