Print Multiple PowerPoint Slides on One Page

Overview

Microsoft PowerPoint allows you to print multiple presentation slides on a single sheet of paper using the Handouts printing option.

Printing handouts can help you conserve paper, reduce printing costs, and leave space for handwritten notes during class or presentations.

You can print handouts directly from PowerPoint or save them as a PDF for printing through Cedar Crest College's FalconPrint system.

  1. Open your presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint.

Save PowerPoint Handouts as a PDF

If you plan to print your presentation using FalconPrint Web Print, we recommend saving your handouts as a PDF first.

This ensures that the handout layout is preserved when the file is submitted for printing.

  1. Open your presentation in PowerPoint.
  2. Select File > Export > Create PDF/XPS Document or File > Save As, depending on your version.
  3. Choose PDF as the file type.
  4. Select Options.
  5. Under Publish what, select Handouts.
  6. Choose the number of slides per page.
  7. Click OK, then Publish or Save.

Mac

  1. Open your presentation in PowerPoint.
  2. Select File > Print.
  3. Configure the handout layout and number of slides per page.
  4. Open the PDF menu in the print window.
  5. Select Save as PDF.
  6. Choose a file name and location, then click Save.

Print Your Handouts Using FalconPrint

After saving your handouts as a PDF:

  1. Open the Cedar Crest College PaperCut Web Print portal.
  2. Sign in using your FalconNet credentials.
  3. Select Web Print.
  4. Follow the prompts to upload your PDF.
  5. Submit your print job.
  6. Release your print job at an available campus printer, following the normal FalconPrint procedure.

Important: Web Print may not offer all the layout and printing options available in PowerPoint. Set your handout layout before uploading the PDF.

Tips for Saving Paper and Printing Funds

  • Choose 3 slides per page if you want space for handwritten notes.
  • Choose 4 or 6 slides per page if you want a compact reference copy.
  • Use double-sided printing when available.
  • Print in black and white or grayscale when color is unnecessary.
  • Review your PDF before printing to confirm the layout and number of pages.

Troubleshooting

My Slides Are Printing One Per Page

Return to File > Print and make sure you selected a Handouts layout instead of Full Page Slides.

If using Web Print, save the presentation as a handout PDF before uploading it.

My PDF Doesn't Have the Correct Layout

Open the PDF and review the page layout before submitting it to FalconPrint. If necessary, return to PowerPoint and create the PDF again using the correct handout settings.

I Don't See the Handouts Option

Make sure you are using the desktop version of Microsoft PowerPoint. Some printing and export options may differ or be unavailable in PowerPoint for the web.
