Troubleshooting Browser Problems

If Canvas is not displaying correctly or a feature is not working, try the following steps.

1. Refresh the Page

Reload the Canvas page to see whether the issue resolves.

2. Update Your Browser

Confirm that you are using a supported and current browser version.

3. Try Another Supported Browser

If a feature is not working in your current browser, try Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari.

4. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies

Outdated browser data can sometimes interfere with Canvas.

Clear the cache and cookies for your browser, then close and reopen it.

Note: Clearing cookies may sign you out of websites.

5. Disable Browser Extensions Temporarily

Ad blockers, privacy extensions, and other browser add-ons may interfere with Canvas or integrated course tools.

Try opening Canvas in a private or incognito window to help determine whether an extension is causing the problem.

6. Check Pop-Up Settings

Some course resources and third-party tools open in separate browser windows.

If a resource does not open, check whether your browser is blocking pop-ups.

Allow pop-ups for the required trusted course website when necessary.

7. Restart Your Browser or Computer

Close all browser windows and reopen Canvas.

If the problem continues, restart your computer.
