For Microsoft 365 and many other College applications, you will sign in using your full College email address:
Example: username@cedarcrest.edu
Some campus systems may request only your FalconNet username without @cedarcrest.edu.
Always follow the username format displayed on the application's sign-in screen.
Your FalconNet Password
Your FalconNet password helps protect your College account and the information associated with it.
When creating or changing your password:
- Use a strong, unique password.
- Do not share your password with anyone, including IT Support.
- Do not reuse your FalconNet password for personal accounts.
- Never enter your password into an unfamiliar website or suspicious email link.
If you change your FalconNet password, you may need to sign in again to Microsoft 365 applications and other connected services.
Important: Some College-managed Windows computers may continue using previously cached credentials until they can communicate with the College network.
Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
Cedar Crest College uses multifactor authentication (MFA) to help protect your account.
MFA adds an additional verification step when signing in to supported services. In addition to your password, you may be asked to approve a sign-in through Microsoft Authenticator or another permitted verification method.
Microsoft Authenticator is the recommended verification method.
You can manage your Microsoft MFA verification methods at:
Microsoft Security Information
From this page, you can:
- Add or remove verification methods.
- Set up Microsoft Authenticator.
- Update your phone number.
- Manage verification methods when replacing your phone.
For detailed instructions, see Microsoft MFA: Set Up and Manage Verification Methods.
Security Reminder: Never approve an MFA request that you did not initiate. If you receive an unexpected verification request, deny it and report the activity to IT Support.
