Transact POS: Installing Zebra DS9308 Bar Code Scanners

There are two Zebra DS3908 Bar Code scanners for scanning items into the POS system in the Falcon's Nest now.  Here is how you install them if more need to be installed.  This is a two-step process that requires:

• Computer with a USB-A port
• USB flash drive
• Printed Scan Sheet
• Configuring the scanners before going to the POS units.

Configuring the Scanners:

1. Download and print the Scan sheet.  Click here to download the Scan Sheet.
2. Plug Scanner into a computer.
3. Scan each barcode from top to bottom, waiting 10 seconds in between scans.
4. Unplug scanner.

Installing the Scanners:

1. Download the driver, unzip onto a USB flash drive.  Click here to download the driver.
2. Plug flash drive into theP POS device.
3. On the POS device, install "Symbol OPOS Driver v.3.31.001.exe"
4. Shutdown/Power down POS device.
5. Plug scanner into powered down POS that has received its Data Sync
6. Power up the POS device
7. Login as cashier account
8. Perform a Test Scan while logged in as a cashier
9. While in POS Shell select Maintenance>Run Hardware Diagnostics
       a. STI_USBSCANNER = OPOS_Successful
10. Launch POS software
11. Scan any item to test functionality
