Uploading Files into OneDrive using the FalconApps Server for MacOS (SPSS only)

Overview

The FalconApps server is an application delivery server that allows you to access software applications that are owned by the college and housed on-campus - from anywhere and on both Windows and Apple computers.

In situations where you cannot save files locally, you will need to use your H: drive.  Once you save on the H: drive, you will then need to access it via Microsoft Edge and upload it from the FalconApps server to OneDrive.  Here is how you can accomplish that:

Saving Files to H: and Uploading in Edge from FalconApps

  1. In your application, click File --> Save As...

  2. In the Save As dialog box, click the down arrow and select the H: drive from the list.

  3. This will save the file to your network drive, H:.  Next, you will need to upload this into Canvas (or any other site you need it).  Exit the application you are in, and then open Edge from the application list in the FalconApps server.

  4. Edge may ask you to go through the initial configuration process, click through the screens.  Once through those screens, type in https://office.com the Office 365 sign in.  Now, login with your FalconNet email address and password as you normally would.  This is the same email and password you would use to login to your email.  Note: you must do this through the Edge icon in FalconApps Horizon dashboard so that you have access to your H: drive.  If you do this from your local computer, it will not work.

  5. Next, look for the blue cloud OneDrive icon on the left side of the Office Dashboard and click on the icon.

  6. Once you click on the icon, you will be taken to your Cedar Crest College OneDrive.
  7. Now, click on the Upload then Files selection in the top menu of OneDrive.

  8. You will be given an upload dialog box that looks similar to the one below.  Scroll down until you see your H:drive, locate the file your previously saved, and click Open to upload it to OneDrive.

  9. Now the file is on your Cedar Crest OneDrive.  You can now access this file by logging in to OneDrive on any computer or mobile device to access or download it to the device when you need to.
