Editing the Metadata in a Docuware Stored Document

Overview

Docuware is a web-based application and database that allows for the storage, retrieval, and sharing of information. This article will help you edit the metadata or index entries of a document already stored in your department's Docuware folder structure to correct information, or reclassify the document.

Storing Data in Docuware

  1. In your web browser, navigate to https://cedarcrestcollege.docuware.cloud and log in with your departmental Docuware account information.

  2. Once you have logged in, you should be taken to your department account's Document Tray Inbox as pictured below.  To find the document you need, either click Search and find the document, or click Folders and navigate to the document in question.

  3. Once you have located the document you need to edit the data on, right-click on the document.

  4. You will be shown this pop-up menu, click on Edit index entries (note that clicking Edit will allow you actually edit and markup the document, not edit the metadata).

  5. You will now be shown the current indexed data for the file in question.  Edit it as needed, then click Save.

  6. You have now edited the indexed data that corresponds with that file.  Based on how you edited the file, it may have moved to another folder, or simply be renamed.

  7.
