Restoring Files to Your New Computer from Code42 CrashPlan

Overview

The Office of Information Technology has licensed a product called CrashPlan from Code42 to assist in backing up and restoring files during the lease replacement process.  Here are instructions on how to restore your files from your old computer to your new one.

Restoring Your Files

  1. Click here to download the CrashPlan for Windows 10.  You will be taken to a new OneDrive web page, click Download.
  2. Double-click, and follow the instructions to install the software.
  3. When you reach the end of the installation, it will ask you for a user name and server name. 
  4. You have received a user name via email, and the server name is: clients.us.code42.com
  5. Next, it will ask for your password.  This should be your FalconNet password.  Input your password, and click Continue.
  6. Click on the Code42 "C" icon in the System Tray or Menu Bar.
  7. Click on Open Code42
  8. Login to the Code42 Application with your FalconNet email and password.
  9. You will see the Code42 Backup Display - click on the blue Restore Files button.
  10. Select the computer you want to restore from.
  11. Select the time period that you wish to restore from.
  12. Select the file(s) or folder(s) you wish to restore.
  13. Click Restore Files
  14. The Restore Files Options screen will come up.  
  15. Select the location to restore to, whether to overwrite or rename the file and the permissions (should always be Current).
  16. Your files will be restored to the location you selected.
