Creating Infomaker (2019) Database Profiles

Tags infoMaker

Overview

In Infomaker 2019, the Config tool has been deprecated, and the Database Painter replaces it.  Before you can connect to a database (such as Jenzabar), you will need to run the Database Painter.  Here are basic instructions on how to do that with a sample database.

Directions

  1. Launch Infomaker 2019
  2. Next, click Tools --> then Database Painter

  3. Now right-click on ODB ODBC as the Database Interface, then click Create New Profile

  4. Now, fill in the following fields:
Profile Name: Give it a name you will recognize
Data Source: Select the appropriate data source (which should already be configured in your ODBC Connections),
User ID: fill in your username (if you leave this blank, it will prompt you every time you use it)
Password: fill in your password ((if you leave this blank, it will prompt you every time you use it)

Leave everything else as the default, and click OK.

  5. When you load the PBL in the first time, you will see this dialog to choose a database profile.  Select the appropriate one, and click Connect.
