Overview
The Focused inbox is a feature in Outlook that sorts your inbox into two tabs—Focused and Other. The Focused tab will contain mail more likely to be important to you, while the Other tab will have items you are less likely to read. Mail in the Other tab will still be easily accessible, and you can freely move mail between the Focused and Other tabs to help teach Outlook what mail is important to you.
Office 365 automatically sorts your email: more important email goes into the Focused inbox while less important email goes into the Other inbox. The problem is that it may not be getting it right. You may have some important email in the Other inbox and vice versa. Fortunately, you can tell Outlook which email should go to which inbox.
Directions
- In the Outlook Web App, Go the Other folder.
- Open an email from the sender you want to show up in the Focused Inbox.
- Click on Move to in the menu at the top
- Select and click on Always move to Focused inbox.
Tip: Check the Other tab from time to time to make sure you don’t miss any other important emails.
