Connect Your Amazon Echo (Alexa) to Cedar Crest Online (Canvas)

Overview

If you own an Amazon Echo smart home device, you can now link that to the Cedar Crest Online (Canvas)!  When you connect your Amazon Echo device to our Canvas instance, it will allow you to ask Alexa if you have homework, any announcements, or Canvas-related messages.  There are more details on the features this skill adds to your Echo device on the page linked below.  

Here is how you connect your Echo to Cedar Crest Online.

Connecting Amazon Echo to Cedar Crest Online

  • Open a web browser and navigate to the Amazon Alexa Skill page for Instructure Canvas -- or click here.
  • If prompted, sign in to the Amazon account linked to your Amazon Echo device (not your FalconNet account).
  • Click on Enable Skill.
  • Next, it will ask you to link to the school associated with Canvas.  Begin typing Cedar Crest College, and select it when it shows up in the list.
  • You will now be prompted to either enter your FalconNet email address or confirm your FalconNet email address - respond appropriately.
  • Your Amazon Echo will now be linked to Cedar Crest Online.
