The GlobalProtect VPN allows the Cedar Crest community to access our local network for a variety of different reasons. One of those reasons is to access files that exist on our local server file shares, but the VPN does not map the familiar F:, H; and L: drives automatically. Here are instructions on how to have a custom script written for you to access these network shares and how to use the script to connect to your network shares.
- Open a Help Desk Ticket and ask for a script to be created for you.
- Once the script is created, you will receive an email with a link that will allow you to download that script.
- Click on the link in that email, that will bring you to the script in OneDrive.
- Click the DOWNLOAD button near the top of the screen to download the script to your computer. Note the location that it downloads to -- usually your Downloads folder.
- Connect to the CCC VPN following the instructions here: https://cedarcrest.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/KB/ArticleDet?ID=52547
- Once you have the Connected on your VPN, you can then double click and run that script.
- For each connection, you will be asked for your user name and password. You must put in your full email address for the user name. IE: your.name@cedarcrest.edu
- When you type your password in the black box, it will not show you that you are typing, that is OK - type your password and hit enter at each prompt.
- Once you’ve done these steps, you will have your F:, H: and L: drives.
Note: in a pinch, you can access them by opening Windows Explorer and typing in the address bar:
For the F: drive type: \\cccmain\admin
For the L: drive type: \\cccmain\dept_data
This is only applicable to Windows-based computers, for Apple computers please put in a ticket and specify it is for Mac. We can't create a script for you, but we can give you instructions on how to do it manually.
