Troubleshoot FalconNet Wireless Connection (MAC OS)

If you are having trouble connecting to FalconNet, first forget/remove FalconNet from your Mac, then reconnect using the instructions below.

These instructions apply to current versions of macOS, including macOS Tahoe.

Part 1: Forget FalconNet

  1. Click the Apple menu  in the upper-left corner of your screen and select System Settings.

  2. Click Wi-Fi in the sidebar. You may need to scroll down.

  3. Scroll down on the right side and click Advanced.

  4. Under Known Networks, find FalconNet.

  5. Click the More (…) button next to FalconNet.

  6. Select Remove From List.

  7. If prompted, click Forget to confirm.

  8. Repeat these steps for any other FalconNet entries or wireless networks that you need to remove.

Part 2: Connect to FalconNet

  1. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on.

  2. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen.

    • If you don't see the Wi-Fi icon, click Control Center in the menu bar and select Wi-Fi.
  3. Find and select FalconNet from the list of available networks.

  4. When prompted for credentials, enter your full FalconNet email address and password.

    • If your full email address does not work, try entering your FalconNet username only, without the @ portion.
  5. If macOS displays a certificate or security prompt, accept the certificate if it is the certificate provided by your organization for FalconNet.

  6. Wait for the connection to complete.

  7. Confirm that your Mac shows FalconNet as connected.

If FalconNet Does Not Appear

If FalconNet does not appear in the list of available Wi-Fi networks:

  1. Open System Settings.

  2. Click Wi-Fi.

  3. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned On.

  4. Look under the available networks for FalconNet.

  5. If FalconNet still does not appear, contact your network administrator or FalconNet support.

If You Still Cannot Connect

If you have already forgotten FalconNet and cannot reconnect:

  1. Verify that your FalconNet username and password are correct.

  2. Make sure your Mac's date and time are correct.

  3. If you use a VPN or other network-security software, temporarily disconnect it if permitted by your organization's policies.

  4. Restart your Mac and try connecting to FalconNet again.

  5. If the problem continues, contact helpdesk@cedarcrest.edu
