Troubleshoot FalconNet Wireless Connection (Windows 7)

If you are having trouble connecting to the FalconNet wireless network, perform the full wireless setup procedure as described below.

Connect

  1. Click Start > Control Panel.
  2. Click Network and Internet.
  3. Click Network and Sharing Center.
  4. Click Manage Wireless Networks.
  5. If you see an icon for the network to which you are trying to connect (FalconNet), perform the following:
    1. Click the icon.
    2. Click Remove.
    3. At the confirmation screen, click OK.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Click Manually create a network profile.
  8. Enter the following information:
    1. Network name: FalconNet
    2. Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
    3. Encryption type: AES
    4. Select Start this connection automatically.
    5. Select Connect even if the network is not broadcasting. Then, click Next.
  9. Click Change connection settings.
  10. Select the Security tab and click Advanced settings.
  11. Select Specify authentication mode. Then in the box underneath, select User or Computer Authenticator and click OK.
  12. Click Settings.
  13. Make the following changes:
    1. Uncheck Validate Server Certificate.
    2. Select Secured Password (EAP-MSCHAP v2).
    3. Click Configure.
  14. Uncheck Automatically use my Windows... and click OK. Then, click OK on any open windows.
  15. Go to the Task Bar at the bottom of the Desktop. Mouse over the connecting icon and click on Additional information is required to connect to FalconNet.
  16. Enter your FalconNet username and password and then click OK.
  17. A message verifying authentication may display.

Disconnect

  1. Click the wireless icon on the system tray (lower right portion of the screen next to the date and time).
  2. Click the FalconNet connection.
  3. Click Disconnect.

Reconnect

  1. Click the wireless icon on the system tray (lower right portion of the screen next to the date and time).
  2. Click the FalconNet network connection.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. If prompted, enter your FalconNet username and password and then click OK.
