Troubleshoot FalconNet Wireless Connection (Android)

Note: Because of the many versions of the Android operating system, the exact steps may vary slightly depending on your device.

If you are having trouble establishing a wireless connection, try to forget the network, turn Wi-Fi off/on, and reconnect as described below:

  1. From the Apps screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Networks.
  3. Tap the Wi-Fi icon.
  4. Tap FalconNet.
  5. Tap Forget.
  6. Tap the On button next to W-Fi to turn off Wi-Fi.
  7. Tap the Off button next to Wif-Fi to turn on Wi-Fi.
  8. Tap the FalconNet network. Then perform the following:
    1. Verify that EAP method is set to PEAP.
    2. Set Phase 2 authentication to MSCHAPV2.
    3. For Android 7.0 and above, set CA certificate to Do not validate. Otherwise leave this box set to (unspecified).
    4. Scroll down to Identity and enter your FalconNet username.
    5. Leave the Anonymous identity box blank.
    6. In the Password box, enter your FalconNet password.
    7. If it asks you for a domain at any point, enter falconguest.cedarcrest.edu
    8. Tap Connect.

Note: if these instructions don’t work and your phone was issued by a business/organization where you work, your phone may be blocked from connecting. In this case, please contact the business/organization technical support staff for advice.
